A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box goes to the outside service that provides results. Johnston Residents Directory does not retain a separate copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains the information in that message and is used to respond.

Like most hosted sites, the service may log an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time of visit. We use aggregated log information for security, reliability, and page-use analysis. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.

Johnston County and North Carolina portals, archive collections, and third-party search services operate under their own privacy terms. Those terms govern information submitted after leaving this site, including information used in sponsored search results.

The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.

The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
